We can’t wait to give you the healthy smile that you've always wanted, but we understand that starting orthodontic care is a big decision that can sometimes make patients and their families a little nervous.
Our team will work with you every step of the way to make sure that your orthodontic care is as rewarding as possible, using the latest technology to offer a variety of safe and gentle treatment options that provide the customized, individual care you deserve.
Getting started with a consultation
Your initial consultation will give you the opportunity to meet our team, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete initial exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs.
During your initial consultation, we will:
- Get to know each other a little better
- Review your dental and medical history forms
- Provide a complete oral exam, with X-rays, to determine if treatment is necessary
- Help you create a customized treatment plan
- Discuss all financial information, insurance options, and payment plans
- Take you on a tour of your office
- Answer any questions you might have
After your consultation, we’ll schedule your first appointment at which Dr. Buttram will place your new orthodontic appliance. This appointment generally takes about an hour, and during this time our team will be available to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible.
Visiting the orthodontist every eight to twelve weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. We want to make sure that orthodontic treatment is convenient for you and your family, so we’ll work with you to get you scheduled for a day and time that works bets for you.
We know life keeps our patients busy, so if you let us know that you're running late or need to reschedule, we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you. When you're ready to schedule your first appointment, contact our practice, and our friendly scheduling coordinator will assist you. We're looking forward to working with you.
Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment
Orthodontists and dentists are a great team for your whole oral health, so it’s very important that you make sure you keep up dental visits during your orthodontic treatment. Continue to visit your family dentist once every six months for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure that you are receiving the best care possible.
“I have been pleased so far with my journey at Buttram’s Orthodontics. As an adult, getting braces terrified me but I knew my teeth would not become straight otherwise. After my consultation with Dr. Buttram and his office staff, I knew that my goal to beautiful teeth was attainable. Even the payments are reasonable. I can’t wait to see the final result!”Addie
