Meet Dr. J. Randal Buttram

No area of dentistry or medicine can give such a lifelong gift as a great smile to so many people. I love to see my younger patients grow into confident and productive adults and to watch the increase of self-confidence in adults, who many times are learning to smile for the first time! It is just a great service to be able to provide.
Education and Continuing Education
In order to become an orthodontist, I attained the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Science in Biology, Harding University, 1983, Cum Laude
- DMD University of Florida College of Dentistry, 1987, Cum Laude
- Advanced General Dentistry, University Hospital, Jacksonville FL, 1988
- Certificate in Orthodontics, University of Pennsylvania, 1990
A wonderful aspect to my job is the fact that the methods and technology are always changing and evolving. In order to ensure that my patients receive the best services available today, I take more than 20 hours each year of continuing education. I especially love to focus on laser dentistry, mini implants (TADS), Invisalign, Incognito invisible braces, and lingual orthodontics. These new services are helpful to so many of my patients, and I love learning about how to utilize them to their full potential.
In the Office
I love meeting new patients! They are all unique and have many great things to share. The teens and pre-teens keep me young at heart, and up to date with latest musical and reading trends. The adults are usually very interesting people with a common trait of always wanting to improve something about themselves.
For the past 20 years, my goal has always been to give my patients the best value found anywhere in the health care industry. I work hard to provide the most current treatment available in the most efficient means possible. My team always strives for 100% satisfaction from our patients!
We are very open, and encourage family and friends to accompany our patients to the treatment area and to take part in our conversations. We usually have one or more contests going, from awarding good grades to prizes for vacation photos while wearing Dr. Buttram t-shirts! Our annual skating party is also a lot of fun.
Family Life
My wife, Angie, and I were married in 1984 and have two daughters. Emily is a junior at Harding University, and Ellie is a senior at Mosley High School. In my spare time, I love to fly planes! I have earned a Commercial Pilot Certificate for single and multi engine airplanes and an instrument rating. I also love to golf, cycle, stand up paddleboard, surf, and read both fiction and non-fiction. I am actively involved with my church, local youth sports programs as a team sponsor, and the local dental society.
